WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the swift passage of Florida Senate Bill 202, which would dramatically expand school choice in the state, Laura Zorc, FreedomWorks Director of Education Reform, commented:
“We are in a critical time in our country, and parents are beginning to recognize that not all administrators or school board members have our children’s educational success as a priority. Many school board members are intertwined with biased political ideologies and are controlled by special interests groups like the teachers unions. The only way parents can ensure that their children receive a high quality education is if state educational dollars, traditionally earmarked for local school districts, are directed to parents who want the very best for their children. Florida has historically been a bold leader on education reform and with the passing of HB1/SB 202, Florida will continue to lead the nation in putting children and families first. I look forward to seeing Governor DeSantis sign this landmark legislation for Florida families into law.”
