WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to President Trump signing the Executive Order on Expanding Educational Opportunity Through School Choice, Laura Zorc, FreedomWorks Senior Advisor of Education Policy Reform and Parent Led Advocacy, commented:
“Today’s action by President Trump is a major step forward towards educational choice in our country. Now more than ever, American families deserve the ability to determine how their children are educated with as much latitude as possible. Today’s order is particularly heartening for low income families who would otherwise be hindered by the often burdensome costs of alternative schooling.
“By allowing Federal Community Service Block Grants (CSBG) funds to be used for special education services, home schooling, and micro schooling, the Trump administration is empowering American families to secure a worthwhile education for their children. Hopefully, today’s action is a signal of future action to help our nation’s students in these trying times and beyond.”
